What is Fortune de France, on France 2, about?

Fortune of France promises to be a journey through time. This France 2 series is the adaptation of the emblematic literary saga in 13 works by Robert Merle. In this new television program, it all begins in 1557, in the middle of the war of religions. The King of France and the Catholic Church agree to persecute Protestants. For their part, Jean de Siorac and Jean de Sauveterre isolate themselves behind the ramparts of the castle of Mespech.

The series Fortune de France thus traces the destiny of the Sioriacs, a fictional provincial family, but at a key historical period in France. In six episodes, this television program promises to portray a family fresco but also the religious and political issues of the 16th century. To remain faithful to the novels of the writer Robert Merle, the series was also filmed where the Siorac family is located, in Dordogne.
