Tito, iconic member of the Jackson Five and older brother of the King of Pop, has died at the age of 70, his three sons announced in a statement Sunday, September 15.
The third member of the Jackson siblings, Tito had been one of the members of the group Jackson Fivewho launched the career of his famous brother, Michael Jackson.
The Jackson Five consisted of brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Michael. The family group produced several hits in the 1970s, including “ABC”, “I’ll Be There” And “I Want You Back”.
The band became one of the biggest names in music under the leadership of their guitarist father, Joe Jackson. When the family’s music career took off, they moved to California.
Born October 15, 1953, Toriano Adaryll Jackson his real name, was the most discreet member of the group.
In the coming weeks, the artist had several performances planned, including one on October 25 at the Hard Rock Café in Atlantic City, then another on November 1 in Cincinnati.
Tito Jackson is survived by his brothers Jermaine, Randy, Marlon and Jackie, his sisters Janet, Rebbie and La Toya, and their mother, Katherine.
