Former US Vice President Mike Pence is convinced that US military support for Ukraine is imminent, although it has been pending in Congress for months.

In an interview with Euronews in Brussels, he affirms that such a position already has the support of the majority of political parties as well as the American people who “embrace our (editor’s note: that of the United States) leadership role of the free world. According to him, “_Congress will send a historic package of support to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan to President Biden’s desk.”

Unlike former president and presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump, Mike Pence has spoken out in favor of NATO and a strong transatlantic partnership. He explains :“I think there is a rising tide of Republican isolationism in my party. I have boldly opposed it and we will continue to do so. There is no doubt in my mind that if the West were to falter and Vladimir Putin were to invade Ukraine, it would only be a matter of time before he crossed an Article Five border. As NATO allies, we would have to go and fight him. .”

Earlier this year, Mike Pence embarked on a presidential campaign, but suffered a heavy defeat in the primaries. He has publicly stated that he does not support Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential race against Joe Biden.
