Porto joins Sporting in the final

Two weeks after their narrow victory against Vitoria SC in the semi-final first leg of the Portuguese Cup, FC Porto confirmed at home for the return match by quietly winning (3 – 1). The Dragons are heading towards the final of the competition.

Picking up the championship, the portistas smile again in the Portuguese Cup. FC Porto has validated its ticket for the final of the competition. During the first leg of the semi-final, the Dragons won in Guimarães against Vitoria SC (0 – 1). This Wednesday, April 17, the return match took place at the Estádio do Dragão and got off to a very bad start for the locals as Afonso Freitas opened the scoring in favor of the Viramanenses after the first minute of play.

Sergio Conceição’s troops were able to turn things around in the first period thanks to a penalty from Mehdi Taremi (26′) and a goal from Francisco Conceição (45+1′). Returning from the locker room, FCP maintained the pressure on the VSC team and Pepê made the break at the end of the match (75′).

THE invictos have the opportunity to win a trophy this season. They will meet Sporting CP in the final on May 26.
