A day entitled “Inspection announced” was organized at the Mezel town hall by the BTA company from Pont-du-Château with the assistance of the municipality. Intended to take stock of the actions undertaken during the year 2023 and set the directions for 2024, this day also constituted a privileged moment of exchanges and contacts between the commander of the Clermont-Ferrand gendarmerie company, in occurrence the squadron leader Sébastien Rigaill and the 22 soldiers of the BTA commanded by Major Éric Bonjean.
This inspection began with a military ceremony on the square in front of Mezel town hall. During this, the company commander, after having the troops presented to him, gave letters of congratulations to Major Éric Bonjean and to the quartermaster Dubois, deputy gendarme under contract, for brilliant actions carried out in 2023. At the end of this ceremony, an assessment of the past year was presented to local elected officials, to departmental councilor Valérie Passarieu, to Army retirees, to a representative of UNPRG 63 and to other social partners.
