snow, qualifications and environment on the program for the 2nd day in Megève
Descriptive text here

Since Tuesday, the Skiopen Coq d’Or, bringing together the best French skiers aged 10 to 14, has been hosting Megève. This event is an opportunity for the French Ski School, organizer of the event, to take action in favor of the environment, with Rossignol, its partner.

Like Tuesday, it snowed in large flakes this Wednesday and the wind blew strong for the second day of the Skiopen Coq d’Or in Megève, disrupting the progress of the competitions. The clearings of beginning afternoon allowed the four races to come to an end. The U12 and U14 girls and boys were on track for the qualifications before the giant finals which will take place this Friday.

Under the eye of Nastasia Noens, who will be joined by other champions this Friday

The young skiers were able to talk with Nastasia Noens, who was on a World Cup podium three times and who ended her career at the end of last winter. Delighted to share her passion for the competition, the Niçoise remembers: “The Coq d’Or is good memories, I remember the atmosphere with the club, the parade and also Fred Covili who introduced me presented my prize (she had finished second in the giant in juniors). When you are young, seeing champions makes a mark. » The skier from the Southern Alps will be on the slope again this Friday and will be joined by Tessa Worley, a new member of the ESF Team like Nastasia Noens. Other champions will also share this Friday like Cyprien Sarrazin, Maxence Muzaton, Léo Anguenot, Marie Lamure or Doriane Escané.

The ESF and Rossignol are committed to the planet

Via the Skiopen Coq d’Or, Rossignol is joining forces with the ESF to carry out action as part of Respect, its CSR program. Two years ago, a tree was planted for each participant at the “Rooster” in Chirens near the headquarters of the Isère company, to reforest a forest. 1500 trees were born, as many last year – even if the Golden Rooster had not taken place – and there will be around 1500 again this year. “We have committed to the Reforest’Action association to plant 100,000 trees in seven years through different projects close to the mountains” explains Aurélie Besson, consumer marketing director of Rossignol. In addition to this, the ski manufacturer will invite ten participants of this 27th Coq d’Or (the four winners of the grand final and six drawn at random) for one day, April 24, for a visit to the race workshop in the morning and an afternoon with Reforest’Action in Chirens.

“We had this idea to raise children’s awareness of biodiversity,” says Aurélie Besson. We are very proud to offer this to these skiers, to allow them to understand the preservation issues, in our eco-responsible approach (reduction of our waste, use of healthier materials, etc.). we must not forget that the main material of skis is wood. » Through this action and many others, the ESF is part of this desire to preserve the mountains and the living spaces of its instructors.
