Turkey makes Euro history. This Tuesday, July 2, the Middle Eastern country is playing the last eighth-final of Euro 2024 against Austria. The Turks quickly found the back of the net, through Merih Demiral (1-0, 1′).

Finding the fault at 57e second after a scramble in the Austrian box, the Al-Ahli central defender scored the fastest goal in the history of a European Championship in the knockout phase.

The Euro of all records

During the group stages, the record for the fastest goal in the history of the Euro had already been broken. It was scored by Albania against Italy, and more precisely by Nedim Bajrami, after 23 seconds of play.
