Early legislative elections: with 28.1% of the votes, the New Popular Front in second position in the first round

All the main left-wing parties, united under the banner of the “New Popular Front”, have gleaned 28,1% votes cast this Sunday, June 30, according to Ipsos/Talan estimates for France Télévisions and Radio France at 8 p.m. For this first round, the alliance ranks second, behind the National Rally and its allies (34%) and before the presidential majority (20,3%).

For comparison, during the 2022 legislative elections, the New Popular, Ecological and Social Union (NUPES) reached 25.66% in the first round, just a hair’s breadth behind the Macronist camp, which came out on top with 25.75% of the votes cast.

Between 58 and 72 seats for La France Insoumise

According to Ipsos/Talan projections, the “New Popular Front” can hope to glean between 125 and 165 seats in the new assembly, far from the absolute majority, whose threshold is 289 seats.

In detail, La France Insoumise retains the advantage over the rest of the left, but with a slight decline compared to the last legislative elections, with 58 to 72 seats (75 seats before dissolution),

The Socialist Party could confirm the dynamic recorded during the European elections; the rose party, the second force on the left, is regaining its colors, but remains far behind the rebellious competitor with 33 to 43 seatscompared to 31 in the outgoing assembly.

The environmentalists follow: 28 to 38 seatsagainst 21 before dissolution; and the communists, in sharp decline, with 6 to 12 constituenciescompared to 22 at the end of the previous legislature.
