They were a dream couple in the reality TV cosmos: Yasin and Samira had sparked a connection on the dating show “Love Island” in 2019. The couple moved in together very quickly, their son Malik was born at the end of 2020, the wedding bells rang in February 2021 and their daughter Medina followed in June 2023. But then the rumors of crisis and separation increased. What is the situation with the couple now?

Yasin and Samira: Two months in separate apartments

At an event organized by “BILD” and Aida, where the two were guests with their children, they spoke openly about the state of their relationship. The crisis was so severe that they sought to separate physically for a while. “There was always a negative atmosphere, we couldn’t communicate and that wasn’t nice for the children. It just got worse and worse,” said Yasin, describing the situation at home. That’s why he moved into a friend’s apartment for two months.

It was the right decision for him, because he had reached a point where he could hardly see a future for the relationship: “I needed this distance, otherwise it would 100 percent have ended in divorce,” he explained to “BILD”. Samira also confirmed that they needed this distance. That way they could both check for themselves “whether it would even work out”.

Wedding rings taken off, but shared plans for the future

Although the two no longer wear their wedding rings, they do not want to give up their relationship. They are now living together again. They also have ideas for the future: “We decided that it might be good for us to make a fresh start and move to Bavaria, to the Allgäu. There we have family around us who support us and can also take the children so that we can function as a married couple again.”
