New national coach can count on strongmen De Bruyne and Lukaku: “They have given their word”
After several turbulent months and tournaments, the Red Devils are looking for a fresh start under Rudi Garcia. The Frenchman will start against Ukraine in March and will receive the full support – as Peter Vandenbempt knows – from Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku.
Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne have been critical of the national team in recent months and campaigns.
More and more questions were asked about their future, but the two banners are pulling the cart, as Peter Vandenbempt said in his analysis this morning.
“Garcia has been presented with a very clear project,” our commentator outlines. “He has been given an 18-month contract, that is, until the 2026 World Cup.”
-“That has also been agreed with a number of strong players at the Red Devils – especially Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku – to go all the way until then. They have given their word to Mannaert for this.”
“After all, the national team was at a crossroads. Either you want to do everything one more time with the survivors of the golden generation. Or you make a radical choice for rejuvenation.”
