Despite the victory over the Netherlands (35-28), synonymous with qualification for the quarter-finals, the Blues have not forgotten their less successful second half.

Guillaume Gille (coach of the French team, on Bein Sports): “We take this victory because it ensures our qualification for the quarter-finals. Now, it is certain that our match is not satisfactory as a whole. There are many sectors that have been in difficulty. It's a free warning but we're going to have to work because we lost the plot in attack, especially in the second half. We now have a few days to prepare for the important moment of this competition. However, we feel like we are in the right place.”

Aymeric Minne (Center half of the French team, on BeIN Sports): “It's perhaps our worst match at this World Cup but at the same time, we did the job by winning and not qualifying for the quarter-finals. We only have victories and we have built up a lot of confidence for the future. We have difficulty adapting to the Dutch game. We had the impression of solutions everywhere and at the same time, this was not the case. But on arrival, we didn't tremble. Everyone plays, everyone has a say in this World Cup and everyone is totally involved in the team.”

Karl Konan (Defender of the French team, on BeIN Sports): “We wanted to qualify and we are satisfied. Now, it is certain that the manner was not there in the second half but everyone was able to play and rest. The essential is done, we can be proud of what we have done even if there are still details to be refined. There is enormous versatility in this team and no one is irreplaceable, which is the strength of our team. We can be happy with that. However, there is still a long way to go in this competition.”
