Police report
A major fire broke out at the recycling company Thommen AG in the industrial area in Kaiseraugst AG on Thursday afternoon. The rescue workers evacuated numerous people, but the police are not yet aware of any injuries.
As a media spokesman for the Aargau cantonal police said at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency, the fire broke out in one hall on the Bahnhofstrasse area and spread to a second one.
The fire brigade was deployed with a large contingent, as was an SBB fire engine, said the spokesman. The fire is under control, said the media spokesman for the Aargau cantonal police, Pascal Wenzel, at 20 minutes.
-The fire led to heavy smoke. The population was asked via the Alertswiss warning app to close windows and doors and turn off ventilation and air conditioning. (rbu/dab/sda)
