Rotterdam, Munich (dpo) – After FC Bayern Munich’s Champions League defeat against Feyenoord Rotterdam, those responsible at Säbener Straße are pulling the ripcord: coach Nuri Sahin has been released with immediate effect.
“We value Nuri very much as a person, but in the end we as a club always have to evaluate based on sporting criteria,” explained Bayern boss Jan-Christian Dreesen. “After the slap in Barcelona and the defeat against Aston Villa, that was the third serious defeat in the premier class.”
Nuri Sahin had only taken over the top job at FC Bayern Munich before the season as Edin Terzic’s successor, but was rarely able to meet the expectations placed on him. His expulsion had been expected for weeks.
-It is unclear who will succeed Sahin as Bayern head coach. Vincent Kompany, Thomas Tuchel and Nuri Sahin are currently considered hot candidates.
