San Siro, next Champions League destination
Míchel Sánchez’s men today face the penultimate game of the Champions League group stage, and the last away game. They do it by visiting a first-class venue, San Siro, to face a team with a lot of history like AC Milan. The Italians are the third team with the most European titles in their cabinets and have won the Champions League up to seven times, despite the fact that this year their performance has been irregular. In the top continental competition they have accumulated a record of four wins and two losses that places them in twelfth with twelve points with two games remaining, but in the league they are eighth. Of course, until the defeat last weekend at the Juventus field, they had gone eight consecutive games without losing and they recently won the Italian Super Cup by defeating Inter in the final. In the Champions League they have achieved four consecutive victories in the last games (Crvena Zvezda, Slovan Bratislava, Real Madrid and Bruges), and they only lost in the first two against Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen.

The Italians have recently made a change on the bench, with Sérgio Conceição leading the team in Paulo Fonseca’s place. The Portuguese coach landed in the best way, beating Juventus and Inter to lift the Super Cup, and in the league he has a record of one victory, one draw and one defeat. With a long past at Porto, it is only his second experience outside of Portugal and today he will experience his first Champions League night with Milan. The squad has very prominent names such as Pulisic, top scorer with ten goals, Reijnders, who follows him with eight, or Álvaro Morata and Leao, who have six each. In their ranks they have many players with a past in the Spanish league, such as Jovic, Chukwueze, Morata himself or two key pieces of the defense such as Theo Hernández and Emerson.
