A win would take us closer to qualifying, so a big performance is needed. We’re back at San Siro as we welcome Girona in the Champions League. Sergio Conceição and Yunus Musa gave today’s pre-match press conference in anticipation of our matchday 7 fixture.

ON AC MILAN V GIRONA “It’s a huge game for us. We want to go as far as possible. Every competition is different; playing in the biggest competition in club football is big motivation. We’ll need to improve in the league and start building form to make sure we stay in the Champions League.”

TEAM “Part of my job is try to convey the right mentality to the team. I need to do more of this. The boys are working on the finer points and I see that they’re focused on trying to make a change. The players need to believe in what they’re doing and learn from the mistakes. Every game is an opportunity.”

MESSAGE TO THE FANS “The supporters are the heart and soul of the Club. We need them as our 12th man. We need their support; this is a crisis. Away from recent history, and its positives and polemics, there’s too much division. My message to the fans is this: if we win or lose, we all win or lose.”

INDIVIDUALS “I don’t want to risk Pulisic. He will stay with the team and we have another session tomorrow. We’ll see whether he’s available. Pavlović has always trained well. He’s showing us his desire, and I’m happy.”

OUR OPPONENTS “Girona have some good indivuals and they function well as a unit. We’ll need to be solid at the back. We always try to give our all and we’re working hard to improve. We’re lucky to be in the Champions League. I dreamed about playing this competition. In America, they get up early to watch it.”

HEAD COACH “Conceição’s arrival coincided with the Supercoppa win, in which we beat strong opposition. This shows our level of quality and makes us excited for our coming matches.”
