A fire broke out at the Grand Kartal Hotel in Kartalkaya Ski Resort in Bolu, where there were holidaymakers. While the hotel was engulfed in flames, fire brigades were dispatched to the scene.
A fire broke out in a hotel in the center located at the top of the Köroğlu Mountains, for an unknown reason. The flames quickly surrounded the hotel.
Upon notice, many fire brigades, AFAD, UMKE and medical teams and helicopters were dispatched to the region from the city center, districts and surrounding provinces.
While those staying in the hotel were evacuated due to the fire, the teams are continuing their efforts to extinguish the large-scale fire.

THE NUMBER OF DEAD RISES TO 10
Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya announced that the number of dead increased to 10 and the number of injured increased to 32.
Minister Yerlikaya shared the following from his X account;
“Today at 03:27, a report of a fire broke out in a hotel in Kartalkaya Ski Resort was received, 267 personnel from various public institutions and organizations intervened in the fire and the intervention continues.
According to initial findings, unfortunately, 6 of our citizens lost their lives and 31 of our citizens were injured.
May God have mercy on our citizens who lost their lives, and I wish a speedy recovery to our injured.
Unfortunately, the number of deaths has increased to 10 and the number of injured has increased to 32.

4 CHIEF INSPECTORS AND 6 PROSECUTORS WERE ASSIGNED
Vedat Işıkhan, Minister of Labor and Social Security, “Four Chief Inspectors have been assigned to investigate the tragic incident at Kartalkaya Ski Resort in Bolu. Our inspectors will make the necessary investigations.” made a statement. Minister Tunç said, “A judicial investigation has been initiated by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the fire that broke out in a hotel in Bolu Kartalkaya, and 6 public prosecutors have been appointed. In addition, a 5-person expert committee has been formed. The investigation is being carried out meticulously.” He made a statement.

Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş also made the following statement on the subject:
“I wish God’s mercy to our citizens who lost their lives in the fire that occurred in a hotel in Bolu Kartalkaya, and patience to their families. I wish a speedy recovery to our injured citizens. We are following the process closely with our Psychosocial Support Teams.”
While those evacuated from the building were temporarily placed in other hotels in the region, it was stated that the fire on the lower floors was extinguished in the following hours with the intervention of fire brigades.
While the fire response on the upper floors continues, intense efforts are being made to prevent the flames from spreading to wooded areas.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that there may be holidaymakers trapped on the upper floors, and there is concern that the loss of life will increase.

The teams are also trying to evacuate hotel guests. According to initial findings, those staying in the hotel are being evacuated due to the fire, which included injured people. Teams are continuing their efforts to extinguish the large-scale fire.
