Season 12 of “Star Academy” is slowly coming to an end. The second semi-final took place on January 18, 2025. Frank and Ebony competed to join Marine in the final. We repeat ourselves, as in all our articles concerning the TF1 program, but better safe than sorry: move on if you have not watched the prime and do not want to know the name of the second finalist.
Like the previous week, the two academicians, who opened the prime with “Last Dance” by Donna Summer, had to undergo six different tests. “It’s the battle of the top of the class,” said director Michael Goldman. The first challenge was the “Artist Duel” with Zaz. Franck joined her on “Si”. Then she and Ebony performed “Dazzled by the Night.” This was followed by an “Air de finale”, a challenge during which the two students sang with Marine. The latter and Ebony sang “Whitout you” by Mariah Carey.
Then, for the “Tableau chant et dansé”, Franck and Ebony competed on “Unholy” by Sam Smith. During the “Vocal Showdown”, the two semi-finalists launched into “Rolling in the Deep” by Adèle. For the “Grand solo”, Franck covered “Commeils dit” by Charles Aznavour. Ebony continued with “Don’t judge me” by Camille Lellouche.
-The two students were then able to leave a “Personal Message” to their loved ones. Accompanied by Marine on the piano, Franck dedicated “Je vole” by Louane to his parents. Ebony addressed the audience with “Language” by Zaho de Sagazan. Then, there was the return of an “Air de finale”. Franck and Marine covered “It’s written” by Francis Cabrel. Finally arrived the “Ultimate duo”. The pair started with “Because it’s you” by Axelle Red.
The long-awaited outcome with Nikos Aliagas which does not prolong the suspense: Ebony is qualified for the final. See you next week to find out who, Marine or Ebony, will be the big winner of this twelfth season.
