Several hundred people followed the call from the left-wing extremist groups Berns Revolutionary Youth and Nowef Winterquartier, as a reporter from the Keystone-SDA news agency reported. The demonstrators gathered on Bahnhofplatz in the afternoon and set off on a march through the city center at around 3:15 p.m. The police initially let them go.
The WEF in Davos symbolizes capitalism with the climate crisis, wars, economic crises, discrimination and oppression, it said in the call for the demo. WEF participants discussed crises of their own making.
The WEF starts on Monday in Davos GR. Over 3,000 people, including top politicians, business leaders, representatives of social organizations and the media, will discuss global challenges over five days.
