Le Mans FC will face PSG at home!

The drawThursday January 16, 2025, designated the next opponents of the 8th final of the French Cup of Football.

Le Mans FC will face the PSGat home, at the Marie-Marvingt stadium.

For February 4 or 5?

The date exact match is not yet defined: the match will take place either on mardi 4 or the Wednesday February 5, 2025.

A National club meets the leader

PSG, leader of Ligue 1, will therefore face Le Mans FC who play in National 1 (and 11th in the ranking).

The Manceaux qualified by beating Ambrières Cigné Football (5-0), Vannes OC (2-1), Saint-Colomban Locminé (4-0), FC Marmande 47 (7-0) and Valenciennes FC (1-1, penalties).

For its part, PSG dominated RC Lens (1-1, penalties) in the 32nd round and FC Espaly (4-2) in the 16th final.

Only one meeting in the past

In French Cupthe two clubs have only met once: it was on March 2, 2011, at the Parc des Princes, in the quarter-finals. The Parisians won 2-0 after extra time.

Since then, Le Mans FC, then in Ligue 2, has undergone judicial liquidation, before being demoted to the Honorary Division.

PSG, title holder (with a record 15 victories), and three-time French champion, also encountered Le Mans in the round of 16 of the League Cupon December 18, 2019, and emerged victorious from the stadium (MMArena at the time) 4 to 1.

Another Sarthe team to have challenged PSG: Sablé FC, on January 20, 2012 (at MMArena), during a historic match, in the 16th final.

Le Mans “at the center of the French football map”

Angers, Nice, Toulouse, Strasbourg… The L1 teams will face other clubs from L2, N3 or N2. Or gala posters for fans. Le Mans will be the only representative of its level (N1).

Many clubs hoped to host PSG. For a few weeks, this will put Le Mans and the Marie-Marvingt stadium back at the center of the French football map. I'm happy for everyone
