Germany: Dortmund’s Donyell Malen moves to the Premier League

Donyell Malen is leaving Borussia Dortmund to join Aston Villa in the English Premier League.

Dortmund’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl confirmed the Dutch international’s transfer on Tuesday evening ahead of Dortmund’s Bundesliga match at Holstein Kiel.

“Donyell will leave us, he will move,” said Kehl on Sky TV. He did not want to comment on the transfer fee. A transfer fee of 25 million euros plus possibly five million euros in bonus payments had been speculated in advance.

Malen moved from Eindhoven to Dortmund in the summer of 2021. In 94 Bundesliga games for BVB, he scored 30 goals and provided 16 assists.
