Made in France: Cécile Bois (Candice Renoir), a love triangle and haute couture, this is the new France 2 series and it starts tonight! – News Series on TV

Wednesday January 15, 2025 at 9:05 p.m., 2 launches the broadcast of its new series “Made in France”, in which Cécile plays the main role. What is the value of this unpublished fiction taking place in the closed world of haute couture?

What is it about?

“It's a crisis! Rita, 50, discovers that her husband Olivier has cheated on her. But Rita and Olivier have lived together for 30 years, 4 children, and when she's not taking care of them, Rita assists Olivier by doing the accounting for his body shop But who is this “other” woman Olympe, 38, a manager at Valières, a major French luxury leather goods brand, is the opposite of Rita…

A woman of power, she comes from a very privileged background. Passionate about work and ambition, she is chic, beautiful, and has a CV as long as your arm. Rita decides to confront her and goes to Valières headquarters. But nothing goes as planned!

While Rita has every reason to hate Olympe, and Olympe to distrust Rita, Rita, on the contrary, although she knows nothing about the world of luxury,… becomes Olympe's assistant! Forced to work together, how long can such a duo last?”

The diffusion of Made in France begins Wednesday January 15, 2025 on France 2, from 9:05 p.m. The entire season 1 is available on france..

Who is it with?

Cécile Bois, who we know very well thanks to her role in Candice Renoir, slips into the skin of Rita. Her fictional husband, Olivier, is played by Thierry Neuvic (seen in 2024 on TF1 in La Recrue). Finally, it is the actress still relatively little known to the general French public Antonia Desplat who plays Olympe.

Made in France was created by Killian Arthur, Nicolas Jones-Gorlin and Marie Roussin. The latter also wrote the six episodes that make up this first season, alongside Julie-Albertine Simonney and David Fortems. Finally, Mathilde Vallet was responsible for the production.

Is it worth a look?

The pitch of the deceived woman who finds herself working for her husband's mistress is rather improbable… However, beyond this crazy story, the personal problems encountered by the characters of Made in France echo situations and emotions very real, probably already experienced by some viewers. Thanks to this, this new series is effective!

Cécile Bois perfectly plays this scorned wife who decides to take her revenge in her own way. The actress who recently starred in Signalements is here touching, funny and sincere in her interpretation. Thierry Neuvic and Antonia Desplat are equally convincing in their respective scores, they brilliantly bring to life these ultimately rich and complex protagonists.

The dialogues are very well written, making the story enjoyable and easy to follow. The words were wisely chosen! The production is also elegant and full of good ideas.

Beyond the intimate drama that is told in Made in France, we also dive into the closed world of the great French fashion houses, whose know-how has made them internationally renowned. This foray is captivating and allows us to escape from our love triangle.

It is, however, a shame to have emphasized so often the differences between our heroines who are completely opposite (the devoted mother who does not master the codes of the luxury sector versus the brilliant businesswoman, dressed to the nines and alone ). The clichés obviously bring comedy to the story… but can also appear winded.

Nevertheless, the relationship between Rita and Olympe remains at the heart of Made in France and its evolution is very interesting to discover. Sometimes far-fetched, the twists and turns on screen still keep the audience in suspense… We want to see what happens next at the end of each episode!

Without a doubt, this new, careful and entertaining fiction will find its fans without worry.
