Borussia Dortmund suffered a painful away defeat on Tuesday. The Borussians visited Holstein Kiel with a 4-2 defeat, while AC Milan simultaneously recorded a 1-2 victory against Como, where Jean Butez made his debut.
Holstein Kiel – Borussia Dortmund 4-2
The visitors gained possession of the ball and had to look for a hole in the defense of the relegation candidate. In the last fifteen minutes before half-time, Dortmund suffered a number of hard blows.
After 27 minutes of play, Shuto Machino opened the score for the home team. Not much later, Holstein Kiel scored again, after striker Phil Harres nodded the ball behind Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel. In injury time of the first half it also became 3-0.
Dortmund could not overcome the deficit in the second half, despite coming back into the match with two goals and a red card from Holstein Kiel substitute Lewis Holtby. Deep into injury time, substitute Jann-Fiete Arp made the final score 4-2 on behalf of the home team. Due to the defeat, Dortmund is now a disappointing eighth in the Bundesliga, which further increases the pressure on coach Nuri Sahin.
Como – AC Milan 1-2
Milan did not have an easy evening at Como, where former Antwerp goalkeeper Butez stood between the lines for the first time. Although I Rossoneri had a slight upper hand in the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, Como also had plenty of moments to show themselves. This resulted in the opening goal in the second half: after Assane Diao had already been dangerous a number of times on behalf of Como, he poked the ball into the short corner after an hour of play. As a result, Milan had to give chase.
Ten minutes later, however, the visitors leveled again with a goal from Theo Hernández. Five minutes after the equalizer, Milan’s comeback was complete: after a nice through ball from Tammy Abraham, Rafael Leão crossed the ball over Como keeper Jean Butez. As a result, the game ended 1-2. Milan is therefore seventh in Serie A, while Como now occupies sixteenth place.
