Maraya would have voluntarily left her home in Albi early Friday evening. “We think she got into a car with a questionable individual,” says Marion, her aunt. “For us, there is no other explanation.”
Contacted, and taking into account Maraya's age, the Albi public prosecutor's office confirmed having opened an investigation for a “worrying disappearance”. At this stage, investigators nevertheless favor the thesis of the escape.
Attended the Saut du Sabo college in Saint-Juéry, Maraya is 1.65 cm tall and has an average build. She is brunette with a long bob, has black eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black leather perfecto and black Adidas sneakers (Campus model).
Left with a bag and without a phone?
“She is a calm and rather discreet young girl, continues her aunt. She is not a child who is in opposition or who responds. This is why we are really worried and surprised by her disappearance. This is not in her habits… plus she is a student who has no problems at school.”
Maraya's family assures that she has no history of running away: “Maraya left only once, one night to stay with a friend but she came back in the morning.” According to those close to her, Maraya left with a backpack and therefore very few spare items. “We also don’t know if she took her phone,” adds Marion.

The alert regarding his disappearance was given on Saturday morning. “We first called and surveyed his close circle and his friends but we got nothing… We expanded the search but it yielded nothing,” explains the family. “For us, it’s incomprehensible.”
The investigation was entrusted to police officers from the Albi police station. Family and loved ones have already been heard. “We also decided to mobilize on social networks, underlines Maraya's aunt. We see that it is growing, that everyone is playing the game. Wherever she is, we want Maraya to see the messages , that she contacts us and that she comes home, everything else doesn't matter.”
The family invites anyone with information to contact the Albi police station or the Tarn gendarmerie.
