Ten officers attacked, including one hospitalized, and two children kidnapped
“This Tuesday, January 14, 2025, an individual broke into the Maison Nord Solidarités in Lille-Vauban and violently attacked ten departmental agents. One of them, in a state of shock, is currently hospitalized,” the Department said in a press release this Wednesday.
“The man accompanied his partner who was welcomed for a publicized visit. The latter fled with two of her children entrusted to child welfare,” describes the Department. “The children were found this morning and immediately taken into care. »
The events that took place yesterday are unbearable.
“These acts are of incredible violence both for the young children kidnapped and both for our departmental agents,” protests Christian Poiret, the president of the Northern Department. “Violence, in any form whatsoever, has no place in our society and even less so in premises where our employees respectfully accompany Northerners and where they surround with kindness the children who must be protected. »
The Department specifies that the attacked officers filed a complaint. The children were found “thanks to the mobilization of the judicial authority and the rapid intervention of the police. »
