The Monza coach wanted to underline how his players achieved a triumph in a concrete way. The scorer of the second goal, however, recalled how the group’s results come before individual ones
Monza’s 2-1 victory over Fiorentina, which came after 11 games without a triumph, was welcomed with joy by Salvatore Bocchetti. The coach from Brianza, speaking on Sky Sport, praised his group: “Surely yes, I saw a team that was hungry. The guys put everything in and I felt it. They deserve this victory, they suffered, we will continue to suffer but this is the spirit of this team. Giving the fans joy like this is a great thing“.
Arriving after almost three months of abstinence, tonight’s victory means a lot for the Monza coach, who declared: “I’m starting to see the spirit and courage, which must never be lacking in a team that needs to save itself. I ask all the guys to give everything. When they are called upon, they want them to give everything. It’s true that sometimes it’s difficult to enter races in progress. Especially a team that has to fight until the end must have this prerogative”.
Finally, asked about Daniel Maldini, scorer of the 2-0 goal, Bocchetti concluded: “Maldini is phenomenal for me, I’m sure he can give us a great hand and he’s working well. He’s a fantastic player”.
Maldini praises the collective
The scorer of the second goal, who also spoke on Sky, wanted to compliment his teammates: “The group makes the difference, we love each other and this can be seen on the pitch“. When asked about the goal scored, he instead replied: “It was important to bring the points, the individual’s performance comes second. I’m happy to be back to doing well. We have started 2025 well and hope to continue doing so”.
