This weekend, Boé hosted the departmental cross championships, a flagship event for runners. With 90 athletes present, the Villeneuve-sur-Lot club was a hit during the competition, qualifying for the quarter-finals of the French cross championships.

The collective performances of ESVMAC were impressive. All teams, from the chick category to the cadet category, took first place, for a total of 7 podiums. And in senior cross court, Entente Villeneuve/Monflanquin won gold for the first time, marking a highlight for the club.

Individual exploits on the chain

The Bastides athletes also shone individually, with no less than 18 podiums collected in various categories. Here is a summary of the notable results.

In chicks, a hat-trick on the podium with Devy, Gourves and Chabert In chicks, Younes Frery comes 1st Lucien Jouteux 3rd.
In the junior girls category, Inès Jagueneau finished first and in the boys category, Yvan Rey took 2nd place.
In the cadet category, Zélie Caballe finished in silver while the junior, Amandine Pionnier took 3rd place.

Among the hopefuls, both girls and boys, it was also a success with the victories of Neige Tchouateum and Tristan Barella.
Finally, in the masters, Marie-Laure Touchefeux is 2nd in masters 2, Rampillou, 1st in masters 3, Hayette Jagueneau 1st in masters 5. Kevin Mula is 1st in masters 2, Thierry Merland and Jean-Pierre Costes are 1st and 2nd in masters 5, and Lagarde came 1st in masters 7.

Despite demanding weather conditions, the ESVMAC athletes did well. The performances achieved mark a great start to this sporting year. In total, 70 athletes from Stade Villeneuvois will proudly represent ESVMAC during the quarter-finals of the French cross championships, scheduled for January 26.
