On this Tuesday, January 14, the cold air is becoming more and more present with clearing skies and temperatures dropping overnight. This Tuesday will be the coldest day of the week, with almost widespread frost, even on our coasts and temperatures which will drop locally to -10°C in the most sheltered plains and up to -20°C in winter sports resorts in the Alps. In the south-east, the sun also shines with a cold feeling due to the wind: mistral, tramontane, particularly in Corsica, accentuating the cold feeling. All day long, fogs are rare and the sun is generous, announces the Weather Channel*.
A frozen morning
The weather is cold with widespread frosts, but fogs are rare. There are still some patches of low cloud locally in Hauts-de-France, Loire" rel="tag">Pays de la Loire, Brittany and Aquitaine with freezing fog due to the negative temperatures. The minimum temperatures are -5°C in Lorraine with another -4°C in Rennes.
A dry and cold afternoon
In the afternoon, the good weather continues but is still dry and cold. The sky is slightly veiled north of the Loire. In the south, the sun also shines with a cold feeling in a southeastern third due to the wind: mistral, tramontane, kiss on the Alps and fairly strong northeast wind in Corsica. Locally temperatures do not thaw in the east. Maximum temperatures are 13°C in Perpignan with another 8°C in the Basque Country.
A clear evening
The clear sky favors the rapid drop in temperatures and the resumption of frost. There is foggy gray over Nord-Pas-de-Calais and this will envelop the region at night with reduced visibilities. Elsewhere, the weather remains dry and clear.
Trends for the next few days
This Wednesday, January 15, gray weather will settle in in the northern regions and it will be dry and cold in the west and in the mountains. The wind will blow from the southeast. Morning temperatures are 0° to 5°C and -1° to 7°C in the afternoon. This Thursday, January 2, the same type of weather is expected with good weather in the mountains, but a disturbance may occur in Corsica.
