The administrative detention of Algerian influencer Doualemn will be extended. The 59-year-old man was arrested in Montpellier after making violent comments on TikTok.
Twenty-six additional days of detention for Algerian influencer Doualemn. His lawyers announced they would appeal. They denounce a decision made in a tense political and diplomatic situation, for which the client would pay the price. The 59-year-old influencer was arrested on Tuesday, January 7, after posting a video on TikTok in which he called for violence against an opponent of the Algerian regime.
Expelled by France this Thursday, he was immediately returned by Algiers, because he was banned from entering his country of origin. The influencer has lived in France for 36 years. Algiers considers his expulsion arbitrary: “The vengeful and hateful far-right, as well as its certified heralds within the French government, are currently leading a campaign of disinformation, even mystification, against Algeria.”
