No strike, but action at Triangel primary school: “Teaching is the best and most important job, hope the politicians realize that” (Wuustwezel)

Director Roel Everaert explains: “With our team, we chose, after much hesitation, not to take any action. Naturally, we are also very concerned about the plans on the table during the government negotiations. But we don’t want the children to suffer from this.”

The choice not to strike was well received by the parents, who thanked the school team with coffee cakes. “They wrote: ‘Thank you for being there for our children every day, but especially today,’” says Everaert.

Although the team ignored the strike, the director emphasizes that education urgently deserves more appreciation. “We would actually like to see education put in a positive spotlight, so that more young people choose this profession. It is the best and most important job there is. That the ladies and gentlemen politicians would also like to realize that.” (ella)
