Guillaume Canet is starring in a new film! This Friday January 10, 2025 releases on Netflix To Lifea thriller in which the actor plays Franck Lazarev, a former member of the GIGN in search of his wife kidnapped by a mysterious group of armed men. For the occasion, this Wednesday January 8, he was the guest of the show Legendhosted by Guillaume Pley and broadcast on YouTube. During this interview, the director spoke at length about his relationship with Marion Cotillard. Very discreet about his private life, he notably explained to what extent he could sometimes laugh or be angry because of certain articles evoking his relationship published in the celebrity press.
«Because it’s always a loop of stuff: we travel on private jets, we’re on yachts, we live in Los Angeles… There are things that make me laugh, things that annoy me, things that hurt me because when we interfere too much in our private lives, it’s complicated”he revealed. So, when the journalist asked him the secrets of the longevity of his relationship, the actor admitted that it is not always “obvious”. “Like all couples, we go through wonderful times and shitty times because it’s been a very long time and it’s true that it’s not always easy to live with someone”he admitted before specifying that doing the same job is one of the difficulties they faced.
«It’s complicated for both of you. We experience very, very strong things in emotion, in feelings (…) When we don’t work for a long period of time and we see the other going on set, doing promotion, going to previews and that we stay at home, there are times that should not be easy”explained Guillaume Canet, who was marked by filming with Gérard Depardieu. Then, considering himself lucky, he continued: “Until now, I have had the chance to work a lot at the same time as Marion, who has also worked a lot. On the other hand, it could have been complicated for me to see her success, everything she experienced if I hadn’t been busy and I hadn’t worked. I think I might have had a bad experience.”
