Due to a person on the A1 bridge near Winterthur near the Winterthur-Töss exit, the motorway was closed for several hours on Wednesday evening.

In the canton of Zurich, the A1 near Winterthur was closed in both directions shortly after 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening. A Nau.ch reporter reported this on site. There was a large police operation at the Winterthur-Töss exit.

There were the cantonal police, the fire brigade and the medical services on site. The police were also on duty with a drone and confirmed the operation to Nau.ch.

As we learned on site, a person had climbed over the railing on a motorway overpass. In doing so, she put herself and other road users in danger, the police said.

The operation then lasted more than four hours and only ended shortly after midnight, when the police on site announced: The person was safe. According to police, she was given professional care.
