Novak Djokovic speaking courtside about his third round win: “I’m very hot-headed right now, so I’m going to try to give a calm and diplomatic answer. I think I played really well, honestly. I’m very happy with my game. I was slightly surprised with the result and to beat him in straight sets.
“There was a break early in the second set and I struggled physically there, but I somehow managed to turn things around and hold my serve when I needed to. A couple of points really decided that second set, it could’ve gone his way and then the outcome of the match would be different.
“In the third set, I felt fresh and I moved really well. Overall, I’m pleased with my game. There is always something to improve or work on, but this is definitely my best match I have played this tournament.”
-On what physical battles he had to work through in the second set: “I was trying to catch my breath. I struggled a little bit. I’m not 19-years-old anymore you know and you go through different stages in a match.”
