At the age of 72, Irma Defevere died in Bruges, surrounded by her daughters. She was born in Bruges on February 16, 1951. The woman fought a long battle. Yet she always kept the courage and fought.
Irma was better known as Zus. She worked in the catering industry for years. She first ran the Kruiskalsijde café and café in Zuienkerke for many years and later started on the Market with the Carré, which her daughter Kitty now continues. Kitty took over the torch from her mother and continues the catering industry with love. Many people from Bruges come here. With her death, Bruges loses another important figure in the catering industry.
After her busy life in the catering industry, Irma was able to enjoy pleasure sailing on the canals with her boat. She was a member of the Flandria Yacht Club on the Katelijnebrug for many years. Sister was loved everywhere. Her smile was her calling card. She had her heart in the right place. For example, in 2020 she had a work of art made with light that could be admired on the Market as a thank you to the people active in healthcare. In 2015, she was declared Doctores Humores Causa by the Bruges carnival association De Totetrekkersgarde. The funeral is planned for Wednesday, January 15 at 10:30 am at the Blauwe Toren crematorium in Bruges. We offer our sincere condolences to the family.
