NOW YOUR WLKY WEATHER WITH CHIEF METEOROLOGIST JAY CARDOSI. ALL RIGHT, ONCE AGAIN THERE’S A LOOK AT THE WLKY DRIVE CAM IS WHERE ON FERN VALLEY RIGHT NOW. WE JUST PASSED FEGENBUSH KIND OF HEADING TOWARDS HURSTBOURNE. AND YOU CAN SEE BOY THAT STRETCH IS LOOKING GREAT RIGHT THERE. THE TWO LANES LOOKING FANTASTIC. NICE AND WIDE. A LITTLE BIT OF SLUSH RIGHT THERE ON THE EDGE. NOTICE THAT. SO SOME OF THOSE LANES KIND OF NARROW FROM TIME TO TIME. PLEASE BE CAREFUL IF YOU’RE HEADING OUT ANY TIME SOON, AND ESPECIALLY ONCE YOU TURN OFF THE MAJOR THOROUGHFARES OR THE INTERSTATE SYSTEM. BOY, YOU CAN RUN INTO A LOT OF SLUSH ON THOSE RESIDENTIAL STREETS AND KIND OF RUTS AS WELL. ICY RUTS. SO BE CAREFUL IF YOU ARE HEADING OUT ANY TIME SOON. WE’RE CLOUDY. WE’RE COLD, 29 DEGREES. A COUPLE OF FLURRIES HAVE BEEN FLYING EVERY SO OFTEN, AND I THINK THAT TREND, THAT CHANCE FOR A FLURRY OR TWO WILL LAST TONIGHT, EVEN INTO TOMORROW MORNING. HUMIDITY QUITE HIGH, 70%. A GENTLE WEST SOUTHWEST BREEZE AT SIX. SO THE FEEL LIKE DOWN AROUND 23, BUT NOT MUCH SHOWING UP ON THE RADAR SCAN. THESE FLURRIES REALLY TOO LIGHT TO BE DETECTED BY THE RADAR. BUT THEY’RE OUT THERE. THE COLD AIR KIND OF SQUEEZING OUT THE AVAILABLE MOISTURE. BUT AGAIN WE’RE NOT EXPECTING ANY ACCUMULATION. TEMPERATURES WILL HOLD FAIRLY STEADY THROUGHOUT THE COURSE OF THIS TUESDAY EVENING, RUNNING IN THE UPPER 20S WITH THE THICK CLOUDS AND A FLURRY OR TWO POSSIBLE KIND OF PASSING BY. THE OLD WINDSHIELD EVERY SO OFTEN. BOY, WE HAVE THICK, LOW CLOUDS ACROSS THE AREA, AND WITH ALL THAT SNOW ON THE GROUND KIND OF ENHANCING THE COLD AND CAUSING THESE CLOUDS TO BE TRAPPED IN THE LOW LAYERS OF THE ATMOSPHERE, NO DOUBT ARCTIC HIGH PRESSURE UP HERE IN THE NORTHERN PLAINS. THAT’S WHAT’S DOMINATING THE WEATHER PATTERN FOR NOW. SO COLD CONDITIONS WELL BELOW AVERAGE. WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU’RE GOING TO GET GOING FORWARD. ALL RIGHT. LOW TEMPERATURES TONIGHT WHEN YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING. LOW AND MIDDLE 20S. COLD BUT NOT BAD. ABOUT 24 RIGHT HERE IN TOWN. WEATHER IN MOTION FOR YOUR WEDNESDAY. YEAH. STILL A LOT OF CLOUDS AROUND. A FLURRY OR TWO POSSIBLE THROUGH ABOUT MIDDAY. AND WITH ALL THOSE CLOUDS, IT’S GOING TO BE A DAY A LOT LIKE TODAY WITH TEMPERATURES TOPPING OUT IN THE MID AND UPPER 20S. I THINK RIGHT AROUND 29 WILL DO IT HERE IN THE METRO. CLOUDS WILL TEND TO DECREASE LATE IN THE DAY AND THAT WILL BE A CLEARING TREND FOR TOMORROW NIGHT. OKAY. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? WELL, WITH LIGHT WINDS, ARCTIC HIGH PRESSURE BUILDING IN THE CLEAR SKIES, WE’RE EXPECTING TOMORROW NIGHT. AND THAT DEEP SNOW PACK. THERE’S THE END RESULT. IT DOES LOOK LIKE WE’LL DROP BACK INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS ACROSS THE BETTER PART OF THE REGION. AND WE COULD BE LOOKING AT TEMPS EVEN A FEW NOTCHES BELOW ZERO IN THOSE FAVORED LOW SPOTS. THAT WILL BE THE CORE OF THE COLD AIR. AND THEN WE’LL START TO MODERATE JUST A LITTLE BIT. BUT AS WE MODERATE, WE HAVE ANOTHER SNOW CHANCE LATER IN THE WEEK. IT’S GOING TO COME FROM THIS SYSTEM. DOESN’T LOOK LIKE MUCH. I KNOW IT’S A BIG DIP IN THE JET STREAM RIGHT THERE. IT’S AN UPPER LEVEL LOW THAT’S IN BETWEEN LA AND PHOENIX RIGHT NOW, BUT THAT WILL RIDE THE JET STREAM OFF TO THE NORTHEAST. AND IN DOING SO, LOOKS LIKE WE HAVE A CHANCE FOR SOME SNOW RETURNING TO OUR REGION. FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND FRIDAY NIGHT PRIMARILY. AND THEN IT WILL BE MOVING OUT AS WE MOVE TOWARDS SATURDAY MORNING. BUT AGAIN, NOT BEFORE LIKELY GIVING US SOME ACCUMULATIONS. LOOKS LIKE A PRETTY GOOD BET WE’LL KEEP YOU ABREAST OF THE SITUATION AS MORE DATA COMES IN. WILL BE HONING IN ON EXACTLY HOW MUCH WE’RE EXPECTING AGAIN OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. THE FORECAST NOW FOR TONIGHT. FOR THIS EVENING. MOSTLY CLOUDY, COLD, A COUPLE OF FLURRIES WILL HOVER IN THE 20S. DETAIL 12 HOUR FORECAST FOR TOMORROW, WAKING UP TO 24. A LOT OF CLOUDS. COUPLE OF FLURRIES EVERY SO OFTEN. CLOUDS DECREASE. LATE DAY, BUT ANOTHER COLD JANUARY DAY WITH A HIGH OF 29 WILL BE 29 AGAIN THURSDAY. A LOT OF SUNSHINE AFTER THAT FRIGID START. WE’RE 30. FRIDAY 31 SATURDAY. THAT’S WHEN THAT SNOW SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO MOVE ON THROUGH WITH POSSIBLE ACCUMULATIONS. AND THEN BEYOND THAT, IT JUST KIND OF STAYS CHILLY AND WELL BELOW AVERAGE. GUYS NEAR 32 OR SO SUNDAY, MONDAY, TUESDAY. LOWS AT NIGHT IN THE TEENS AND ALSO THE 20S. OH YEAH, A COLD WEATHER PATTERN. IT’S HERE AND IT’S NOT GOING ANYWHERE ANYTIME SOON. WE’LL KEEP YOU UP TO DATE ON THAT SNOW CHANCE LATER IN THE WEEK. KN
