Meurthe-et-Moselle. CBD grows in Lunévillois with the brand “Fleurs de Lune”

Their friendship began on the benches of an engineering school in agronomy, agri-food and the environment in . It continues today in the heart of a Lunéville family farm, with an original project.

Since 2023, Louis Carton, Maxime Duguet and Aubin Démonté have been producing hemp on part of the agricultural structure's land. “When Aubin took over the farm, the idea of diversifying it emerged. We wanted to set up another activity alongside sheep breeding,” explains Louis Carton.

Their choice then goes off the beaten track. It focuses on cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabigerol (CBG). For several years, many brands have flourished highlighting the benefits of these compounds contained in hemp. “We had heard a lot about it, but we realized that there was little information on the provenance. Our desire was to relocate and be completely transparent,” adds the young man.

Agroecological production

The seeds selected by the trio are certified and registered in the European catalog, ensuring consumers a THC content (psychotropic component of cannabis) below the authorized 0.3%. Analyzes are also carried out on production by a laboratory.

Concerned about offering quality and natural products, their hemp cultivation is carried out using agroecology, that is to say without synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, and with organic fertilization. The flowers are then carefully harvested, dried at low temperature to preserve the aromas and refined without artificial additions.

Direct sales

The 2024 harvest is over. The hundred plants, made up of four varieties pampered under a 350 m greenhouse2 was picked in October. It will thus enrich the “Fleurs de Lune” range of products developed by the three friends over the past year.

“After focusing on production in 2023, we got into the swing of marketing. The French sector is still being built. We therefore decided to focus on direct sales to meet consumers,” says Louis Carton. The three entrepreneurs sell, for the most part, their production in the form of flowers or herbal teas during various local events.

This proximity allows them to see their loyal customers grow in the area, and to consider other items. Food sweets containing CBD, or even oils!
