Olympique de Marseille should lend Pau Lopez to another Ligue 1 team. The Iberian goalkeeper has not played with Girona, his team since August.
Olympique de Marseille has certainly found a new base for Pau Lopez. According to Foot Market, discussions have begun between OM and RC Lens for a loan of the Spanish goalkeeper. The Marseille goalkeeper does not play at all with Girona and the deal would have been broken by the Marseille management recently.
Fabrizio Romano even announces that the deal has been finalized between Lens and Marseille for a loan with an option to purchase for this summer. Lopez would replace Brice Samba in the cages, left to be plastered until the end of the season by his managers. His transfer to Stade Rennais would have collapsed due to disagreements between the two managements.
His last year with OM was clearly not optimal… Apart from a few interesting matches in the Europa League, notably against SL Benfica, Lopez stood out above all for his errors and his lack of liveliness on his line. This is why Geronimo Rulli replaced him in the Marseille cages during the summer at the request of Roberto De Zerbi.
In Girona, he will have the difficult task of replacing a Samba who is often imperial on his line and very effective in his communication. On the other hand, he is fortunate to know Ligue 1 perfectly, having played there for three years.
