For the first time since his departure in the summer of 2015, André Ayew will once again set foot on the pitch at the Vélodrome, but this time in the shoes of an opponent. For Téléfoot, the HAC striker made no secret that this meeting would be very emotional for him: “It’s a club that has really been part of my whole life. I call it my house, it's my home, it's my stadium” he declared before returning to his affiliation with Abedi Pelé: “Being the son of Abedi Pelé in Marseille… You have to go there“.

He then spoke about the childhood dream he lived throughout his career with his little brother, Jordan: “Everything that happened to us was as if we had predicted it. We talked about a lot of things when we were little. We achieved everything, playing at OM together, scoring a goal together in the same match, wearing the colors of Ghana together. We experienced some crazy things” he concluded. As a reminder, André Ayew stayed ten years at OM between 2005 and 2015 where he spent two loans: in Lorient in 2008-2009 and in Arles-Avignon in 2009-2010.
