Projected starting lineups, injury report for Timberwolves vs Pistons

After a solid three-game winning streak that began on Christmas, the Minnesota Timberwolves have now dropped their last two contests. Granted, they were matched up with arguably the two best teams in the league back to back, in the Oklahoma City Thunder and Boston Celtics.

The Wolves also showed a solid amount of fight in both those games. They battled the Western Conference-leading Thunder up until a third-quarter slide gave OKC the edge, and Minnesota was leading Boston in the fourth quarter at home. The question of how to optimize the offense with certain lineups remains at the forefront of the Timberwolves’ approach, and making Anthony Edwards more comfortable should be a priority.

Minnesota will try to get back on track on the road against the Pistons on Saturday. Detroit will be playing on the second night of a back-to-back after defeating the Charlotte Hornets at home on Friday night, so the Timberwolves will come into this one with a rest advantage.
