“Supporting life journeys”
Facing financial difficulties, the Poitevin association Audacia announced before the summer “to sell its elderly branch”, explains Vincent Hoffer. That is three nursing homes, two being located in Vienne and one in Charente, in Ruffec.
The latter now accommodates 28 residents and employs around twenty employees. All will be offered a renewal of their contract. Hiring more is not currently a priority: “we will first start by stabilizing the workforce affected by high turnover,” notes Anne-Laure Willaumez. Who, surrounded by her teams, intends to “bring life into this nursing home. » “There wasn't much going on there anymore,” breathes Vincent Hoffer who is keen “to open the establishment to the city, to set up workshops. » On the second floor, “we even discovered rooms with shared kitchens that we could easily rent out to mingle with the public.”
“Life Journey”
The current director of the federation will take the reins of the establishment for a few months in order to “stabilize it”, alongside the current deputy director. “We want to move increasingly towards monitoring beneficiaries through the prism of their life course,” he explains. Understand: supporting them over the long term, including when their needs change. “In certain departments, the ADMR even manages crèches,” smiles Anne-Laure Willaumez. And even if “in Charente, we are not there yet”, the federation is nevertheless continuing its projects for old age. One of them should see the light of day in 2025: the construction of a building dedicated to shared housing in Saint-Yrieix.
Other nursing homes could enter the fold of the ADMR, “but in a very reasoned approach”, believes the president. “We would not have taken over the management of an unworthy establishment, with rooms of 9 m2. »
