Trash TV fans watch out: this is coming to you in 2025

• There are some reality and trash series on the program in 2025.

Is foreign shame your relaxation technique? Then you can look forward to the new year. Channels like RTL, Sat 1 and Prosieben have already announced some formats that will make reality TV hearts beat faster in 2025. From dating shows to disgust tests to arguing ex-couples, the television landscape offers a lot.

The first reality show starts on January 2nd. In “Make Love, Fake Love” on RTL+, a single lady is looking for the man of her dreams. But be careful: not all men are there for love. Some of them have already been taken and only the winning amount of 50,000 euros is up for grabs. This year’s love seeker is Karina Wagner. The 28-year-old has been known since 2021 through her participation in the German Bachelor. By living together and going on exciting dates on “Make Love, Fake Love”, Wagner is supposed to find her perfect partner – and can only hope that he is also single.

Netflix has also made provisions for the coming January slump: a German-language version of the successful dating series “Love Is Blind” will be released for the first time on January 3, 2025. The concept: Singles only get to know each other by talking to each other and, at best, fall in love – even though a wall separates them from view. Only when both are sure that they have found the perfect partner is the question of all questions asked – the lovebirds then see each other for the first time when they get engaged. The show aims to demonstrate that love is about inner values. Sometimes it works more, sometimes less.

Also the legendary trash TV show “I’m a Star – Get Me Out of Here!” should not be missed in the new year. On January 24th, the stars will move to the infamous jungle camp in Australia. Lilly Becker (48) and Maurice Dziwak (26) are the first two official candidates, others are only rumored so far. As the “Bild” newspaper reported, reality TV star Yeliz Koc (31), the “GZSZ” stars Nina Bott (46) and Timur Ülker (35) and the reality star Yasin Mohamed (33) are also said to be in feed the Australian bush. RTL has not yet commented on this.

Of course, the presenter duo Sonja Zietlow (56) and Jan Köppen (41) as well as the jungle doctor Dr. Bob (74). The jungle camp will now be broadcast daily at prime time at 8:15 p.m. on RTL.

Model mom Heidi Klum is looking for Germany’s new model face for the 20th time. The exact start date for the anniversary season is not yet known, but experience shows that the first episode will be broadcast in February. Filming began in October 2024. Klum revealed to the “Bild” newspaper that the new episodes will be broadcast twice a week, as usual on Thursdays and now also on Tuesdays. The reason for this is that the male and female models are shown “separated from each other for five weeks,” said Heidi in an interview with “Madame”.

After a three-year break, “Celebrities under Palm Trees” is coming back to German television. The broadcast of the second season was canceled in 2021 after the unexpected death of Willi Herren and the show was discontinued for the time being. In spring 2025, 13 celebrities will fight for the “Golden Coconut” and up to 100,000 euros in a villa on the beach. Sat 1 announced the candidates in November. Claudia Obert (63) is moving into the format again; she was already involved in the first season. Next to her will be Iris Klein (57), reality star Cosimo Citiolo (42), ex-summer house of stars participant Lisha Savage (38) and reality stars Kim Virginia (29) and Nikola Glumac (28).

The latter two left their fans speechless by announcing their relationship in recent weeks. Apparently they learned to love each other in the format. Nikola even emigrated to her adopted home of Dubai for Kim, and the two’s Tiktok accounts currently contain almost exclusively couple photos. They are also said to be engaged after just a few weeks of dating, as can be seen on Tiktok.

In this format, ex-couples meet and have to get back together again, at least for the games and sleeping situation. The exes stand to win 100,000 euros, and the whole thing is expected to be streamed on RTL+ in spring 2025. The participants have already been determined. Yeliz Koc (31) and ex-boyfriend Jannik Kontalis (28) have to pull themselves together, as do the ex-“Love Island” couple Jennifer Iglesias (26) and Nico Müller (28). Switzerland is represented in the format by two couples: Ex-Bachelor Alan Wey (38) and his former partner Pamela Ghazal (27) will be seen in the exes’ villa, as will the “The Real Life #züri” stars Ariel (20) and Giuliano Hediger (25). The two have a daughter together, but things didn’t work out as lovers.
