The alert was given at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday January 1, 2025. A large farm in Lorraine was completely destroyed by a fire in Lanféfontaine in the Pays-Haut. Around forty firefighters from the Briey, Val de l'Orne and Jarny sectors were mobilized to put out the flames.
The five occupants of the house were evacuated, none of them were injured. They will be rehoused by the town hall. The two adjoining homes were spared, thanks to the work of the fire brigade who were still on the job in the morning carrying out surveillance and clearing operations.
