New Year’s Day, by tradition, means concert! The event, which has been double for some time now, can be viewed on Rai channels.
From the Great Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna, i Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra they perform a musical program always focused on the Strauss, plus some pieces by other composers including, for the first time, those by a woman, Costanze Geiger. In 2025, among other things, Vienna celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of Johann Strauss fils. This year, the Maestro returns to the podium for the seventh time Riccardo Muti.
The dance company of the Wiener Staatsoper will intervene as usual with choreographies, this year signed by Cathy Marstonreprese in two diverse locations: the Technical Museum Wien and the Südbahnhotel Semmering. I am a costume designer of Patrick Kinmonth. Danzano Sonia Dvořák, Davide Dato, Elena Bottaro, Masayu Kimoto, Alice Firenze, Victor Cagnin, Rashaen Arts, Kristián Pokorný, Sveva Gargiulo, Cynthia Liz, Laura Cislaghi, Natalya Butchko, Trevor Hayden and Andrés Garcia Torres.
The Teatro La Fenice in Venice offers a concert directed by Maestro Daniel Harding with the soloists Mariangela Sicilia and Francesco Demuro. A symphonic part and an operatic part with arias, duets and choral passages from our great repertoire. To embellish the event, the choreographies of Marcos Morau performed by Aterballettoone of the most prestigious Italian and international dance companies. TV direction by Fabrizio Guttuso Alaimo.
The event is created in co-production with Rai Cultura and in collaboration with the Veneto Region, with the contribution of Forno Bonomi. There will also be a live streaming for WDR, ART and BR which will broadcast the concert to the rest of the world. Intesa Sanpaolo is the main partner of the entire programming of the Teatro La Fenice.
