Has the age requirement of 30 been reduced in education competitions?.. The Ministry clarifies – Al-Youm 24

Controversy is renewed every time the Ministry of National Education, Primary Education and Sports announces recruitment competitions, due to setting the nomination age at 30 years.

This time, the aforementioned ministry announced a competition to hire third-class educational assistants.

The candidate for the competition must not be more than 40 years old. The condition approved by Chakib Benmoussa, the former minister, in setting the age of 30 years, in order to pass the education exams, does not exist. Which led some to say that this condition is no longer available in recruitment competitions in the relevant ministry.

However, a source from the Guardian Ministry confirmed to Al-Youm 24 that the matter is completely different. It is true that
A competition to employ third-class educational assistants stipulates that the candidate must not exceed 40 years of age at the date of the aforementioned competition, but this does not mean that setting the age of 30 years is no longer acceptable.

He explained that the successful candidates in the final recruitment competition as educational assistants will be appointed directly to public education institutions located within the territorial jurisdiction of the regional academies of education and training, while they benefit from continuous training that ensures the development of their competencies throughout their professional path.

As for the competitions for entering the teaching staff qualification corps, the same source adds, the candidate requirement that he not exceed 30 years of age still applies, stressing that it is based on studies, including those conducted by the Supreme Council for Education and Training.

In addition, the competition for third-class educational assistants, which is related to the statute of employees of the Ministry of National Education, aims to empower the regional academies of education and training with qualified human resources to fill the shortage and ensure the progress of work in educational institutions.

The educational assistant undertakes a set of tasks, including assistance in administrative, educational, financial and material management, preservation and archival work, in addition to contributing to the implementation of the tasks assigned to the departments to which he is appointed. The final successful candidates in these competitions undergo specialized training at the regional centers for education and training professions.

The capping of the age of candidacy for employment competitions in the education sector at 30 years continues to raise widespread controversy. Many observers believe that this condition is unjustified, as it conflicts with the Public Service Law, which sets the age for entry into public service at 45 years. Some fear that this restriction will deprive the education sector of qualified competencies.
