On Sunday December 29 at 9:10 p.m., 2 broadcasts King. An original adventure film, carried by a nice cast, but above all a funny animal…

Let it be said, if Christmas has indeed taken place, its magic continues to operate on your favorite channels. This is the case this evening on France 2. Indeed, on this Sunday, December 29, a beautiful story will be offered, that of a lion cub named King. Directed by David Moreau in 2022, filmmaker behind the romantic comedy 20 years apart or daring genre films Ilset The Eyethe feature film shows an adventure like no other carried by Gérard Darmon, Lou Lambrecht, Léo Lorléac'h, Thibault de Montalembert, Clémentine Baert, and even Artus. Obviously, it's impossible to miss the famous beast… But is it real or not?

King : A little lion, king of escape

What should you do if a lion cub suddenly finds refuge in your home? This is the case of King, a young beast intended for trafficking. Landing at airport, he managed to escape to find himself with Inès, 12 years old, and Alex, 15 years old! Two teenagers who will convince themselves of a particular mission, to bring the wild animal back to its lands, in Africa! The brother and sister will first clash with the customs officers, then try everything alongside a grandfather who has until now been rather absent, the zany Max…

King : An imaginary beast and another real one

Banking on a foolproof imagination, King offers an original trip, that of two teenagers and a little beast of the daredevil type. A lion that takes on various forms in front of David Moreau's camera. Because yes, for reasons of safety and animal welfare, computer-generated images were used to bring King to life during the canning of the most dangerous sequences. But after trusting the special effects company Mathematics, it was indeed a real lion that was used for several close-ups. In the press kit for his feature film, David Moreau looks back on this funny experience: “When King arrived on set, it was like filming with a Hollywood star. I remember that every time he arrived on set, the atmosphere was almost religious, with only the essential members of the crew . Even if this animal was still young, a lion is still very impressive!”
