King Charles was accompanied by his sister Princess Anne today as he stepped out in public for the first time since Christmas Day.

The monarch, 76, and the Princess Royal, 74, were greeted by well-wishers as they made their way from Sandringham House to St Mary Magdalene church in Sandringham for the Sunday church service this morning.

As they walked to the service, the King and his sister appeared to be in good spirits as they both wrapped up warm from the cold, with Charles wearing a thick winter coat and tailored trousers.

Princess Anne wore her staple red scarf along with a tartan skirt and jacket co-ord.

The princess, who also wore a beanie hat, was accompanied by her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.

Queen Camilla was not pictured alongside the King as he headed in for the morning service.

The sighting of the monarch is the first sighting of King Charles since he hosted Christmas on Wednesday alongside Queen Camilla for around 45 members of the Royal Family.

Before today, he was last seen on the walk to church on Christmas Day morning, accompanied by a number of royals including his eldest son Prince William, daughter-in-law Princess Kate, and grandchildren Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

Other royals taking part in the annual Sandringham walkabout on December 25 included Princess Anne, Mike Tindall and Zara Tindall.
