The Top 4000 of Talpa’s Radio 10 came to an end and showed in the past four weeks that there is quite a bit of potential in the station. If the deejays abandon their own infantile items and the station sounds as a whole, the market share can almost be tripled.

An example of a radio station that also does well when there is no hit list is Qmusic. They simply rise in the face of all Sky’s Christmas violence. That’s logical in itself because the hits can’t be heard here for a while. Fellow station 538, which has now become a broad family channel, unfortunately cannot benefit from this and its market share drops by another half percent. DPG’s oldies station, JOE, remains fairly stable but is clearly suffering from the Top 4000 of 10.

NPO Radio 1, 2 and 5 also have to surrender market share to Talpa. 3FM is rising thanks to all the fanfare surrounding Serious Request. At Radio Veronica, listeners are again running away en masse to another station, wondering whether their new initiative, the V1000, with only songs that are not in the Top 2000, will survive. Mediahuis’s other channel, 100%NL, also loses half a percent market share.

The absolute reach winner is Sky Radio with almost 6 million in weekly reach
