In the large family of history shows on television, The War of Thrones is in a good place. Indeed, well established on the small screen, she left a little week ago for her eighth season! A long road which will see the actor, passionate about our past, stop on a character like no other, Napoleon 1st. From his rise to power through his family quarrels, nothing will be evaded on 5, for several evenings. It continues this December 26 with an episode titled Joseph, the heir? (1799-1803). The opportunity, too, to see Bruno Solo give a rather blunt opinion on the most famous of emperors.

The War of Thrones : the Bonaparte clan under the radar

Those who are curious should note it in their diary, they will have an appointment this evening with the third episode of season 8 of The War of Thrones. On the menu of this episode, we will get involved in the Bonaparte clan, which continues to extend its influence. Indeed, Napoleon is now at the rank of consul, when Lucien is at the Ministry of the Interior and Joseph at the Council of State. Problem is, if this picture looks like an implacable spider's web woven into the mysteries of power, family rivalries will stretch everything. France goes to war when Joseph asks his brother to appoint him as successor, if things go badly for him. Embarking for Italy in a new military battle, Napoleon will not hear it that way and refuse to pledge allegiance to his brothers in this way. Furthermore, regarding his inheritance, he keeps in mind that Josephine might be able to give him an heir…

Bruno Solo, marked by Napoleon

Napoleon, a historical figure who divides opinion, between measures that remain engraved in stone and warlike campaigns. Interviewed by our colleagues from Tele-Leisure about it, Bruno Solo will not have said the opposite. Indeed, he retains an ambivalent image of the emperor, judge instead: “How can I not be fascinated by a brilliant man who shook up France and Europe, whether for good or ill? But I don't like his tyrannical side or his nepotism. He also had relationships complicated family issues which are at the center of this eighth season. This is the first time that we have done six hours on the same character, because we have a lot of documented elements which allow us to reconstruct them.
