Christmas morning has arrived. As families gather around the tree opening gifts and partaking in holiday traditions, many will be gathered around the TV to watch an NFL doubleheader premiering on Netflix.
Unfortunately, the Detroit Lions won’t be playing in any either of those games.
The opening game begins with the Kansas City Chiefs headed to the Steel City to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. It’ll be the first time the two teams have played against each other since the 2021 Wild Card game, where the Chiefs defeated the Steelers 42-21.
Both teams enter the contest on a four-day break from their previous matchups. The Chiefs are coming off a 27-19 victory against the Houston Texans, while the Steelers suffered a 34-17 loss against their divisional rival the Baltimore Ravens.
Netflix made some big announcements for their premiere coverage. The streaming giant announced a plethora of analysts spanning across different networks who will contribute to the gameday’s coverage. The platform also announced Grammy‒award–singer Mariah Carey will open both games with a prerecorded performance of her classic song “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
Coverage for the doubleheader on Netflix begins at 1 p.m.
