Best Frenchman of the day, with this 7th place in the Grand-Bornand sprint on Thursday, Eric Perrot was delighted to have been able to raise his head compared to his performances on this same snow previously. The young French biathlete, however, regretted having missed the flower ceremony by so little.
Before thinking about shining on the snow of Grand-Bornand, this Thursday during the inaugural event of the only French round of the Biathlon World Cup: the sprint, Eric Perrot had above all in mind to raise his head compared to the very poor performances that he had delivered in Haute-Savoie until now since his arrival in the premier category. To summarize: the young French biathlete got through it each time. Thursday, the native of Bourg-en-Bresse performed much better, with a 7th place which allowed him to finish first Frenchman during this sprint. Enough to be very satisfied and reassured for Perrot if he had not missed the flower ceremony for… ten tenths. A bit like the latest outings of our 23-year-old representative, who nevertheless took the opportunity to climb to 5th place in the general ranking.
Perrot: “A bit of the sensation of recent weeks”
“There is obviously a bit of disappointment because I would have liked to stand in front of this audience and celebrate. Too bad, we will have to wait. I am happy because I put out a race, up to what I wanted to do . A little bit is missing to get a little more ahead. It’s a bit of the feeling I’ve had on the skis these last few weeks. I barely miss it to really go and get everything in front. It’s a little frustrating, but I’m happy with the fight I put up”, analyzed Perrot, divided in his feelings, but for whom the important thing was elsewhere however. “I am very happy to have taken my revenge because I had it in the way in the last two editions.”
