MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) –

We’ve issued a First Alert Weather Day for the Southern U.P. as a clipper system will bring moderate to heavy fluffy snow by the afternoon. Counties most impacted include Menominee, Dickinson, Delta, Iron and Gogebic where snowfall amounts will range 4-6″ with isolated higher amounts possible in Menominee. Elsewhere in the north amounts range 1-3″ today through tonight. A swath of snow begins to move in late in the morning across the south and spreads east and north by the afternoon. Travel conditions will be deteriorate in the afternoon through the evening. Light lake effect snow showers will continue in the north tomorrow morning. The weekend is trending drier and cold.
